Appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a famous “wine-lover’s” appellation located in the south-eastern part of Rhône Valley (the Provence Alps Cote d’Azur region).

Estate: Domaine De La Méreuille, which means “The Marvelous Domaine” in Provençal (local dialect), started off as a small garden after World War II and expanded in 1980. Now run by Philippe Granger, the 16 hectare vineyard is in Orange Village located on the slopes of the plateau of Mont-Redon and Cabrières on the left bank of the Rhône Valley, and its soil is consisted of beautiful clay, limestone and flinty pebbles.
Grapes: Grenache, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Roussane.
Did you know?: Most of the vineyards are situated in and around the commune of Charnas -midway between Lyon and Valence- on the western banks of the Rhone. A large majority of the vineyards are set on terraces which makes most mechanization difficult, if not impossible. Thus, much of the vineyard work continues to be done by hand - but the the better of quality
